~ Veritas Christian Co-op ~ Lebanon, Ohio ~Birds of Ohio (Grades 1,2) ~ Students will learn about the various birds in Ohio. The characteristics such as nesting habits, bird calls, markings, mating, habitat, and food will be discussed. Migration patterns will also be discussed. Students will have an opportunity to watch for birds (an inexpensive pair of binoculars will be needed for bird watching) and the students will also make some bird treats and make a simple birdhouse. Students will be encouraged to take pictures of birds they see over the summer in order to share them with the class. If possible, a special guest may be invited to the class to show some special birds in Ohio and discuss them.
