~ Veritas Christian Co-op ~ Lebanon, Ohio ~Fun with Foods (Grades 5,6) ~ Our hands-on 'Cooking and Nutrition' class offers you a chance to try out your culinary skills in a laboratory setting by making and eating great-tasting healthy foods. Together we will learn about taking care of the bodies God has given us, nutrition's impact on our health, making healthier food choices, various techniques for preparing and serving foods, kitchen safety, measuring techniques, cooking terms, reading and understanding food labels, setting the table, and how to use charming table manners! Each class will have instruction time and a foods lab, so come ready to eat! Scheduling Info/Prerequisites: 1 trimester Intended Curriculum: Own Outside Work: Minimal Supply/Book Fees: $10 supply fee to cover the ingredients. Supply List: Poster board - The poster board the child will use for an assignment. A PLASTIC two pocket 3 ring folder. The
plastic notebook will wipe off easy, if a child would get something on it. |
